There is an exhaust heat shield, slightly behind where the catalytic converter is and it is attached to the floor of the car. I was wondering if it would be bad to remove this. It seems to be vibrating after hard driving.

I know what you mean, CROM. But while I was under the car today, I noticed that there are more heat shields than I originally thought. I got the one off that is directly behind the cat, but the ones that are further back, I left on. Those require taking off the exhaust, I think.

I HATE that shield with a passion...it constantly gets in my way when I'm unbolting my exhaust and doing stuff with the cat and straight pipe. I always want to take it off (or tear it off), but one of the bolts that connects it to the car wont come out, it just spins. Its probably a metal screw going into plastic...oh well, maybe one day I'll get ye ol' dremel out and get rid of it.

I figure I could just wrap some exhaust wrap around the pipe in that area and I would be fine.
